Punjab authorities have some exciting news for students: electric bikes are on their way! Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given the go-ahead to the motorcycle scheme, which aims to facilitate transportation for students across the province.
In a recent meeting in Lahore, the provincial administration presented a plan to provide more than 20,000 electric and petrol motorcycles to citizens, especially students, through interest-free loans. Total Bikes: The government plans to distribute a total of 20,000 bikes, out of which 1,000 will be electric bikes and 19,000 will be petrol bikes. And guess what? Students won’t have to worry about paying any interest on their monthly installments.
Installment Plan: To make it easier for students, the Punjab government has teamed up with the Bank of Punjab (BOP) for bike distribution. The monthly installment for electric bikes is set at Rs. 10,000, while for petrol bikes, it’s Rs. 5,000.
Delivery: Transparency is key, so the government has decided to hold a draw in May to ensure fairness in the distribution process.
Quota: To ensure equal opportunity, quotas have been set. In urban areas, the bikes will be evenly split between male and female students. However, in rural areas, there’s a bit of difference with 70% of the quota reserved for male students and 30% for female students.

How to Apply for E-Bike:

There will be separate quota for male and female students in this scheme. The process of approving student applications for the scheme will be carefully managed to ensure its success and efficiency.
